RTO & RPO: Your Recovery Goals, Our Commitment

Every business has different tolerance for downtime and data loss. We design backup and recovery solutions that meet your specific requirements — whether that's 15-minute RPO for critical databases or 24-hour RPO for archive data.

We'll help you understand the tradeoffs between recovery speed, cost, and complexity, then build a solution that balances all three for your environment.

We can meet any RTO/RPO requirement you set.

Understanding Recovery Objectives

The timeline from disaster to full recovery

Last Backup
Disaster
Recovery Starts
Systems Online
RPO - Recovery Point Objective

How much data can you afford to lose? This determines backup frequency.

RTO - Recovery Time Objective

How fast do you need systems back? This determines recovery infrastructure.

The 3-2-1-1-0 Backup Strategy

Modern backup best practices for ransomware resilience and complete data protection.

3 Copies of Your Data

Production data plus at least two backup copies ensures redundancy

2 Different Media Types

Local storage plus cloud eliminates single points of failure

1 Copy Offsite (Geographic)

Geographically separated backup protects against regional disasters

1 Copy Immutable or Air-Gapped

Backups that cannot be modified or deleted — even by admins — protect against ransomware

0 Errors After Verification

Automated backup testing ensures recoverability when you need it most

Business Continuity Planning

Backup is just one piece. True resilience requires planning, testing, and documentation.

Business Impact Analysis

Identify critical systems, dependencies, and acceptable downtime for each

BCP Development

Documented plans for maintaining operations during any disruption

Tabletop Exercises

DR Testing

Regular failover tests to verify recovery actually works

Disaster Recovery Testing

A backup you've never tested isn't a backup — it's a hope. We conduct regular DR tests to verify your recovery procedures work when you need them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our data protection services.

What is the difference between RTO and RPO?
RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is how much data you can afford to lose, measured in time. If your RPO is 1 hour, you could lose up to 1 hour of data. RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is how quickly you need systems back online after a disaster. If your RTO is 4 hours, systems must be restored within 4 hours. We help you define appropriate RTO/RPO for each system based on business impact, then design solutions to meet those requirements.
What are immutable backups and why do I need them?
Immutable backups cannot be modified, encrypted, or deleted for a specified retention period — even by administrators with full access. This is critical protection against ransomware, which increasingly targets backup systems to prevent recovery. With immutable backups, you're guaranteed to have a clean recovery point no matter how sophisticated the attack.
What backup platforms do you support?
We work with multiple backup platforms including Acronis, StorageCraft, NinjaOne Backup, Azure Backup, and AWS Backup. We often deploy hybrid solutions that combine multiple platforms for optimal protection. We'll recommend the best fit based on your environment, recovery requirements, and budget.
Do you offer Backup as a Service or do we need our own infrastructure?
We offer Backup as a Service (BaaS) — fully managed backup with no infrastructure for you to maintain. We handle the backup software, cloud storage, monitoring, and recovery. You just define what needs to be protected and your recovery requirements. This eliminates the complexity and cost of managing backup infrastructure yourself.
How do you protect against ransomware?
Our ransomware protection strategy includes: Immutable backups that can't be encrypted or deleted, air-gapped copies isolated from production networks, anomaly detection that alerts on unusual backup activity, multi-factor authentication for recovery operations, and isolated recovery environments to safely restore systems. We also help develop ransomware response playbooks so you know exactly what to do if attacked.
What is geographic redundancy and do I need it?
Geographic redundancy means storing backup copies in physically separate locations — typically different data center regions (e.g., East US and West US). This protects against regional disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, or widespread outages. If your business requires high availability or serves customers across regions, geographic redundancy is essential. We can design multi-region solutions that balance protection with cost.
